Hoi! I’m Prerna.
I am a certified language educator, a lifelong polyglot, and an expat living in the Netherlands. My mission is simple: to help you unlock confident, fluent Dutch without the years of agonizing frustration.
🌍 A Lifelong Love Affair with Languages
Long before I moved to the Netherlands in 2023, languages were my playground. I grew up speaking Hindi, English, and Marathi. Driven by curiosity, I went on to study French and Arabic (een beetje!). Before starting my life here, I worked internationally in the aviation sector and as a school teacher.
Because I understand how various language systems work, I don’t just teach you Dutch rules—I teach your brain how to map a new language efficiently. When I am not in the classroom, you can usually find me creating educational videos for my YouTube channel, “Lifing with Prerna”, finding creative ways to make language acquisition visual, accessible, and fun for learners worldwide.
💼 My “Extreme” Dutch Journey (Zero to Fluent in 2.5 Years)
When I landed here, I didn’t want to live in an expat bubble. I wanted to truly integrate. I put myself through a rigorous “immersion experiment.” I wanted to learn so badly that I strategically switched multiple jobs just to expose myself to different environments, distinct customer accents, and specialized professional vocabulary.
I took on the frontline of Dutch daily life—working in a local bakery, a clothing boutique, a fast-paced drugstore, and ultimately landing a role as a banking customer operations agent. That radical approach worked. In just 2.5 years, I achieved what many think is impossible:
-
-
-
- 🎓 Completed B2-level Dutch at the University of Amsterdam.
- ✅ Passed the Staatsexamen B1 (including KNM) in my very first attempt.
- 💼 Secured a demanding, fully Dutch-speaking corporate banking role within just 1.5 years of arriving.
-
-
I cracked the code to rapid fluency by treating the real world as my classroom. Now, I give my students that exact, battle-tested blueprint.
